Everyone should take the class."
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
During the 2024 legislative session, a change was made to the Accident Prevention Course Rule. Effective July 1, 2024, the new rule states that the course must be a total of at least 4 hours. This means that a first-time participant can take a 4-hour program as their initial training – the 8-hour program will no longer be a requirement.
Minnesota state law requires that all insurance companies give a 10% premium discount on auto insurance to anyone 55 years of age or older who completes this safe driving course. Instructors presents the class using videos and other visuals that demonstrate how accidents happen and how to avoid them. Participants must attend a 4 hour class every 3 years to remain eligible for the insurance discount. Questions: Call 507-283-4724.
