New Residents

New Resident Census Information

Have you just moved into the Luverne School District?
Please call our office at 283-4724 to give us census information.

We encourage you to stop by the Community Education office to become acquainted with what our school district provides for its residents.

Community Education collects the school census information for all children ages 0 up to kindergarten age. The school district uses the information to contact parents regarding school events, including the state-mandated Early Childhood Screening for all 3 year old children.   If you have children 5 years of age or under who have not had a preschool screening, please call us at 283-4724.  This is a required screening prior to kindergarten enrollment.

Community Education publishes brochures three times each year (September/January/April) listing activities and classes for all ages. Each household in Rock County receives a brochure with their Luverne Announcer. Extra copies are available in our office or at the community library.

Community Education offers preschool classes for children from ages 0 up to 5 years (ECFE and Discovery Time Preschool.) Early Learning Scholarships may be available to cover preschool tuition for families that qualify.

Community Education offers FamilyU after-school daycare for kindergarten through grade 5.

Community Education offers student driver education class for students grade 8 and older.

Community Education offers National Safety Council defensive driving class for adults aged 55 years & older to qualify for insurance premium discounts.

If you are an out-of-district family, but would like your children to attend school in Luverne, open enrollment forms are available. Forms must be filed in the non-resident district office by January 15.
